Thriller You Don’t Wanna Miss!

I am super excited to write this post! I always brag around how much I love thriller but I noticed I haven’t really made a post to recommend the books to all of you! Let me introduced you guys to the books that accompanied me all night long!

Of course, in no particular order♥

The Silent Patient

℘Alex Michaelides℘

Okay, this book literally hooked me up all day long because I just couldn’t stop reading! You’ll get to read a famous painter gone murderous over her husband with no seemingly clear motives. And it’s a fun roller coaster ride following her therapist obsessed with uncovering her truth.

“There’s so much pain everywhere, and we just close our eyes to it. The truth is we’re all scared. We’re terrified of each other.”

Verity

℘Coolen Hoover℘

Who would have guess? #1 New York Times Bestseller Author of romance, might take a leap and write another bestseller mixing up THRILLER AND ROMANCE??! This book is for sure, one of my favourites now. A struggling writer on financial ruin accept the job of a lifetime, to complete the remaining book series of a famous author. Just you read and see.

“It’s what you do when you’ve experienced the worst of the worst. You seek out people like you…people worse off than you…and you use them to make yourself feel better about the terrible things that have happened to you.”

The Girl On The Train

℘Paula Hawkins℘

This book is one of my earliest salvation of stand-alone thriller aside from Agatha Christie and it was AMAZING. Years later, I come back to this book and re-read it again which was also AMAZING. A young woman who commutes every morning, overlooking one of her favourites stranger-couples beyond the window. It was just a glimpse, but it’s enough to changed her life for good.

“One for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl . . . Three for a girl. I’m stuck on three, I just can’t get any further. My head is thick with sounds, my mouth thick with blood.

 The Woman In Cabin 10

℘Ruth Ware℘

One word. Mesmerizing. It has a decent start but it gets better with every progress it made. A story of journalist who gets an assignment of a lifetime, a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. That is, until she witnessed the unfathomable in the middle of the night. My most favourite part of the book? of course, the ending!

“There’s a reason why we keep thoughts inside our heads for the most part—they’re not safe to be let out in public.”

The Couple Next Door

℘Shari Lapena℘

One of the most engaging thriller I’ve ever read! The story of a couple who went dining to neighbours when they lost their baby when they return home. The plot line might seems ordinary (while in fact, it’s not ordinary at all in real life) but the twists is definitely something you could expect!

“Everyone is faking it, all of them pretending to be something they’re not. The whole world is built on lies and deceit.”

The Woman In The Window

℘A. J Finn℘

MASSIVE page turner! Judging by how thick this book is and the few days I spent finishing this book, I thinks it’s a pretty good book. A young woman in recluse, spying on her neighbours through the window. And yes, you guess it right— she ended up witnessing something she shouldn’t have. But I assure you, this book is a fun joy.

“Something’s happening to me, through me, something dangerous and new.

The Life We Bury

℘Allen Eskens℘

This book is unsurprisingly good! I was hooked by the blurb and it trully didn’t let me down! One of the most structural thriller with a strong solid story. What I love about this book, is it does not merely focusing on the crime, but it also highlight the characters’ story to stage. A college student interviewing and writing the story of a convicted murderer. This book is just awesome.

“What if I was wrong? What if there was no other side. What if, in all the eons of eternity, this was the one and only time that I would be alive. How would I live my life if that were the case?”

Kill Me If You Can

℘James Patterson & Marshall Karp℘

A combination of thriller and action. A must read! and enjoy the fast paced story from your couch. A poor art student living in New York City, finds a duffel bag filled with diamonds and being hunted by the world’s greatest assassin. And on the trail, another high profile rival assasin on the chase. Oh the adrenaline rush!

“When I was growing up, my mom used to tell my sister and me about a leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. But she never mentioned a Russian Neanderthal with a bag of diamonds at the end of a bloody trail in a train station”

The Sleeping Beauty Killer

℘Marry Higgins Clark & Alafair Burke℘

Probably this book has the most underated famed among all the other books in this list. This book was super pacey and just so easy to read. How it ends might not be surprising but it is enough to keep me awake just so to digest the whole context within me. It’s a part of Under Suspicious Series but this is the only book I read from seven book series and I could understand the book perfectly well without having to read through the rest of the series. And damn. What a title!

“The ones who are innocent help because they trust us. And the ones who aren’t so innocent pretend to trust us because they’re afraid of looking guilty.”

All The Missing Girls

℘Megan Miranda℘

A chilling thriller of the disappearances of two young women—a decade apart—told in reverse. Let me repeat myself. Told in REVERSE. And when curiosity strikes, I happened to read the book front to back and vice versa and WOW. Both make sense. It was brilliant, thrilling and chilling all the same. Definitely one of the best thriller I’ve ever read.

“People were like Russian nesting dolls – versions stacked inside the latest edition. But they all still lived inside, unchanged, just out of sight.”

The Escape

℘C. L Taylor℘

If you’re looking for tension, this book is a choice for you. When a stranger knows the identity of a woman, as well as her husband and daughter and asked her to look after her daughter closely. And I love the slow build-up tension in the book!

“God bless? I don’t need God’s help. I don’t need the police’s help either. I can find you all by myself.”
