Staying home must be a divine bliss for those who was out 24/7 that barely leaves any time for oneself. However, days after days and finally, when weeks after weeks strikes, sometimes might made one’s feel bored for staying too long in the safe and warm shelter. Still, Home Sweet Home and there are many activities you could do to make use of your time.
1. The Most Obvious Choice For People Like Me, Reading!
It doesn’t have to be brand new books. Re-reading old collection works just fine and even better! This way, books that we have bought for a long time will not only be mere classy display and dusty. I believe many of us are starting to forget about the old reading we used to love. You can read anything you want to. You can choose your reads from your bookshelves, nostalgic reading your old original works, old newspapers or even old magazines. There are so many to choose from! You can even read this if you own one.

Now known as: Aplaus Magazine
Those are my old collection from my younger days (in around 2009 or 2010) where I just love to cut out things I love from newspapers and collect them in a book! Bring back memories and what a great way to spend time!
2. Positive Reading
If you are free to choose any reads before, now try to project yourself reading something positive. It doesn’t have to be long passage of motivational speeches-like-text that takes an hour to finished. A simple positive message will do. There was a time where I love to read through positive text – be it a sentence, a poem or even a short paragraph. Those positive words really encourage me and made me ponder through a lot of things in life.
If you are looking for a positive vibes, I would very much recommend Jay Shetty to your life.
I first notice him long ago before he is now and at that time people barely knows him and he has still around 200K followers? ( I don’t remember the exact number but I believe it’s around those time) I started to follow as well as idolized him and read, watched and listened though his positive and bright vision in life.
All of his wisdom is truly on point and words can’t describe how proud I am to see him getting the fame he deserves. Too bad I barely read anything from him now since I am not as active in my personal Instagram as before. But I will definitely find some time to binge reading and watching all his positive post!
Here’s also another tips from Jay when you are bored staying home:
3. Do Things That You Love!
There are lots of personal favourite on this particular point. Some likes to read, some likes to sing, some likes to do gardening, some likes to clean, some likes to cook and so many other things to choose from. Me? I love to stay in bed doing nothing (*throw myself for suggesting useless crap after a long speech of being positive*)
Anyway, being productive does makes you feel different! Personally, I feel more content and proud for being productive in terms of either physically or spirituality. Because this is a Stay Home edition post, I suggest to do things that can grow your spirituality. Basically, things you really enjoy doing so.
For me, I love to sketch and paint once in a while (like once every three or six month – or sometimes once every two weeks) I do not have specific time to enjoy my hobby but once I decided to just do it, I am really enjoying the process. Now the question is, do you have anything you love to do? Find out your inner peace and do not be afraid to explore them more. Somehow, it might be your own unique way in releasing your stress one day!
4. Or You Can Even Try Something New!
To make your day even more interesting you can even try to learn something new! Be it cooking recipes, life-hacks, trying on new skills and so on! It might be distressing when you are stuck in the process of trying something new but as the saying goes, “Practice Makes Perfect.” Just keep going on, remember to enjoy the process and don’t give up! Even if it failed, you gain another memorable experience to add into the story of your life!

I’m trying to find new things that I love. I have been in such a reading slump and I’ve not been reading as much as I usually would! Great list, thanks for sharing.

That’s good to hear! I also learn some new things and do some new activities! The same situation that is happening between us is, I also do not read as much as I used to! But taking a break once in a while in reading is nice💕 Thank you for reading and I am so glad you love it!

LOL I love staying in bed and doing nothing too 😂 but you’re right, being productive is good and also makes the days go by faster! Even if I’m not productive and just watching Netflix, sometimes that makes the day go by fast too 😇

Hahaha forever heaven for staying in bed😂 but so glad to see your approval for being productive! And sometimes I watched NatGeo too to pass my night! But just yesterday, I binge watching Jay Shetty videos that I have missed this past few months. It’s amazing to be occupied!

You can definitely never go wrong with reading or just reading MORE! 😀 It’s also quite important to mix it up a little to not get burned out on what you read (in terms of genre), it can surely help many a lot! Thanks for sharing! 😀

Agree!! It’s surely good to not be always fixated on only one genre! Thank you for the tips and thank you for stopping by!

Hahah I have been trying to mix my staying in bed and doing nothing with spurts of productivity! That way I get to be lazy but I don’t feel bad about it 😀 Also I love that you cut newspaper clippings out and saved them 😀 What a fun idea!
