Familiar with the quotes above?
If you read A Court of Thorns of Roses series, you might have already known the origin of those wonderful line. Who could have forget those legendary scene? For those who haven’t read the series, here’s the cut scene (no worries. No spoiler ahead and it’s super short— just a sneak peak. Who knows you might be interested in reading the series☺) :
“… he will never have to worry about someone walking away because the threat against their life, their children’s lives, will always be there. So, yes, I was jealous of him—because it will always be easy for him. And he will never know what it is to look up at the night sky and wish….”
“To the people who look at the stars and wish, Rhys.”
Rhys clinked his glass against mine. “To the stars who listen— and the dreams that are answered.”
Yep. Those are the excerpt of Rhysand and Feyre in A Court of Mist and Fury even though the story are way more complicated than it seems, but at least it helps to explain the whole situation. Anyway, I am writing this post to rant how much I love the quotes. This quotes has been ringing in my head repetitively ever since I finished the book months ago. You heard me. Months ago. I surely do love the quotes but I do not wish for it to keep on banging inside my head. I blame the eloquence of the quotes for making me a mess.
However, I love how this quotes always pop up in my mind without being recalled whenever I have difficulties to go through something. My mind would be muttering the quotes without being asked to. Aside from the beautiful origins of the quotes, I personally think this quotes has the power to encourage people. To never lose hope and to never stop trying. Yes, I admit it’s cliche to talk about stars and all, but I know people keep on wondering for their whole life for something. Wondering and non-stop hoping for the best to come.
When there’s too much burden to handle, didn’t we sent silent prayers and eventually take action to make things better? Worrying is a natural habit of mine and I believe anyone out there faced the same issue as I am. Too much uncertainty of whats going to happen in the future. Stepping ahead is a must for me and I know it also matters a lot for people who supports me. I would love to have a wonderful life — problem free, happily ever after but deep down I know life is an endless struggle. Aside from giving courage, I just love how beautiful and hopeful the quotes sounds. It just fit the whole life situations.
Just like Feyre and Rhysand in the book that are nervous for the outcome, feel slightly despair yet hopeful and positive and most important of all, they never give up in life. Always march forward to brighter future for themselves and also for the sake of people around them. I used to look for stars when I was a child. Going out for a car ride, stick my forehead and the tip of my nose on the locked window to see the stars. Maybe this is also one of many reasons I love the quotes.
♥ Besides, watching the stars are calming ♥
I know it’s out of context but consider this as a fun trivia. Do you believe what legend says about wish come true when the shooting star strikes?
